Succession planning

What is succession planning? Why succession planning is important? Examples of poor planning  1. No one can replace you 2. You pass away and your wealth does with you 3. Your ideas go with you 4. No one knows why you are doing what you are doing 5. No one can take over from where you left off In most families when the bread winner dies no one is able to handle the money and advance the family. It is the responsibility of every family to teach their loved ones to manage finances. A friend was left with good inheritance but it soon disappeared because she was not ready and or did not know how to look after her wealth. It is true that people when the bible says a fool and his money are soon parted they t refer to situations like this.  You may be the best at what you do but when no one has taught you how to manage money they you are a fool with money.  Most fathers fail their families (focusing on men intentionally). All they know is to bring money home and do not spend time with their families. If je makes good money non of his family members works or worry about making a leaving. He teaches them to depend on the wealth he has built.  This attitude is such that one throws money at everything and one does not have relationship with their family. They are always working and making the money. They spend too much money on their family when they want to spend time with then. It is as if they are buying their time. Expensive gifts and all the money does not address the gap you are leaving as a leader when you die or become incapacitated.  What does your family know about making money? Will they be able to take care of one another in your absence? How will they turn out? It does not matter that your loved ones will not have to work again, did you teach them enough to be able to take care of themselves without you being there? Having a trust will save them from finishing the money. Will they leave a good quality of life without you?

Letting go

Letting Go:

In the absence of moving forward you need to look at what is hindering you from moving on. These are the things that you need to focus on.

Focus on the very thing that hurt you the most, the very thing that is dredging you down and realize the power that all this issues are have on you. The best way to move forward is by eliminating things that have a hold on you.

You will not have a successful relationship if you are still holding to the old one
You will not be the best at work if you are still being moved by hate
You will never be an over achiever until you do things differently
You will never be happy until you let go of the anger
You will never know peace until you are free

Everyone that has moved on had to go face their demons.

Peom: Love

I do love her
I fell for her the first time I saw her
She stood out from the ladies I had met before
Even today  she still does

A Friend, a Lover and a Companion
A Rock, a Pilar and a Comforter
She is to me what soil is to men
She is to me what

The mother of my children
The home maker
The one that turns kitchen into a magical place
The warmth of her hut warmeth our home

She is creative, a born leader
A Mother and my Wife

3 FORGIVENESS

1. What is the meaning of forgiveness - The action or process of forgiving or being forgiven:

It is easy to forgive other for doing you wrong but to forgive yourself it is not easy. Let us focus on the self healing kind of forgiveness Self-forgiveness.

Self-forgiveness happens in situations where an individual has done something that they perceive to be morally wrong and they consider themselves to be responsible for the wrongdoing. Self-forgiveness is the overcoming of negative emotions that the wrongdoer associates with the wrongful action. Negative emotions associated with wrongful action can include guilt, regret, remorse, blame, shame, self-hatred and/or self-contempt.

Major life events that include trauma can cause individuals to experience feelings of guilt or self-hatred. Humans have the ability to reflect on their behaviours to determine if their actions are moral. In situations of trauma, humans can chose to self-forgive by allowing themselves to change and live a moral life. Self-forgiveness may be required in situations where the individual hurt themselves or in situations where they hurt others.

2. Why is it important -
A friend of mine was engaged to this beautiful lady and they made a lovely couple. They had been dating for years and my friend cought her cheating a several times. Eventually he called off the engagement. As a result of the hurt he went through, he started becoming cautious when in relationships.

Since then, his relationships never lasted and he became a player. He was angry with himself for being fooled so many times by the same person. He kept asking himself why him and how could he be so foolish? The one thing stood out was the fact that he could not trust anyone. That caused his relationships to fail.

After many years of not trusting you forget the real reason you do not trust and that is what happened to him. He himself forgot why he does not trust women. He even taught his son not to trust women. This is also common to mother and they become so over protective because they were hurt before. They do not want to see anyone being hurt like they were hurt especially their loved ones. The cycle continues for many generations to come.

There are men who call women dogs and women who call men dogs. There may be different reasons why you do not trust or hate and the root cause may be the fact that you could not forgive yourself.

In all fairness there are thing that you do not want anything to do with because of the past experiences and might have forgotten the reason why you do not want them. When ever you realise that you do not like or do not want something ask yourself why and seek to forgive yourself in order to move on. Pain and Anger stops life for many of us

MY SEVEN KEYS TO HAPINESS

1. Awareness
Awareness is the first step toward personal freedom. You cannot change what you do not see. Many people live on autopilot, reacting to life instead of responding to it. Awareness helps you understand your triggers, your patterns, and your emotions. It allows you to pause before anger takes over, to see the real cause behind your reactions. When you become aware, you begin to separate the event from your response. You stop blaming others and start taking responsibility for your choices. Awareness gives you power over your life.

2. Acceptance
Acceptance is not about agreeing with what happened. It is about acknowledging reality as it is. When you resist, you remain trapped in pain. When you accept, you free yourself to heal. Life will bring challenges, heartbreaks, and disappointments, but your peace begins the moment you stop fighting what you cannot change. Acceptance helps you see that your value is not defined by what left you, but by how you rise. Only when you accept your situation can you begin to rebuild your life with clarity and purpose.

3. Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. Holding on to anger poisons your soul and keeps you bound to the past. Forgiveness does not mean forgetting or excusing what was done. It means choosing peace over pain. True healing begins when you forgive yourself for what you allowed, for what you did not know, and for the mistakes you made while trying to survive. The moment you forgive, you release the weight that keeps you from living fully.

4. Letting Go
Letting go is an act of strength. You cannot receive new blessings while your hands still hold the past. Whether it is anger, resentment, or regret, these emotions keep you stuck. To move forward, you must confront what hurts you and release its power over you. Letting go is not weakness. It is wisdom. It means you choose peace over pain, growth over stagnation, and faith over fear. Every person who has moved forward has faced their pain and decided to let it go.

5. Peace
Peace is not found in the absence of problems. It is found in the calm you create within. When you stop chasing control and start trusting the process, peace becomes your natural state. It is a quiet strength that helps you face storms without being shaken. Peace comes when you stop reacting and start responding with understanding. Protect it, nurture it, and guard it with your choices. Nothing is worth your peace.

6. Happiness
Happiness is a decision, not a destination. It begins with gratitude for what you have and grows when you focus on what is right instead of what is wrong. True happiness does not depend on money, success, or approval. It comes from living in alignment with your values and walking in purpose. Each day offers a reason to smile, even in small victories. When your mind is peaceful and your heart is grateful, happiness becomes your natural state.

7. Love
Love is the foundation of all things good. It heals, restores, and gives meaning to life. To love others, you must first love yourself—completely and without conditions. Love teaches compassion, patience, and kindness. It reminds you that every person is fighting a battle you cannot see. When you act from love, you stop judging and start understanding. Love breaks walls, builds bridges, and turns pain into purpose. In love, you find the highest form of happiness.

AWARENESS PART 2

AWARENESS PART 2
What makes you who you are and how does the world see you?

What do you see when you look at people around you?

Do you see ANGRY, SAD, HURTING, AFRAID, HOPELESS, AROGANT, HAPPY, JOYFUL, SMILLING or people in LOVE?

What happens when you walk into a room full of family and friends?
Are you being noticed and everyone smiles at you?
Are you being avoided at all cost and people pretend to have not seen you?
Are you able to hold conversations without anyone offending you?
Are you being offended by other people’s views or when they do not agree with you?
Do you just greet and go to the corner and wish to leave within the first hour?
Are you intimidated by a crowed?

Do you walk into a room full of people smiling and as soon as you walk in they keep quiet and start to disperse?
What does your family do when you get home?
Are they smiling and happy to see you or keep quiet and wait for the first change to leave the room?
Do you feel like a monster?
Do you despise people around?
Do you hate going home?
Do you make every excuse not to go home?
Are you looking for reasons to take a business trip and be away from your family?

People are just a reflection of you. I know that I can spend 2 hours sitting without saying a word. If that offends you then you are the one with a problem. The problem might be the silence and not the fact that I am quiet. Look within and find the reason why is the silence offending you. I know that when driving there are times when I look forward to that moment of silence at times I switch off the radio just to hear myself think.

Sitting in an open plan office it nice but listening to other peoples conversations is not for me. There are a lot of things that makes me happy, like walking into a restaurant that is playing their music nice and soft. There is no problem with the music but do not like to shout when talking to a person sitting across the table from me.

There was a time when I used to take myself serious and was offended by a lot of things like the word in zulu “njayam” meaning my dog, though the person used it in a friendship context or saying that I am the best in something. It took me a long time to realise that the words were not a problem but I was the problem. I associated the words with their real meaning and I saw a picture of the dog. These were habits that I picked up when I became a Christian. Being a Christian was not a problem but the decision to take things at their face value was.

In this chapter you need to learn more about yourself and take the time to reflect. Dig deep to find the reason why you hate certain things or they make you angry. The important thing here is not to find the solution or try and fix yourself. That we will cover in the later sections of this journey to HAPPINESS. Make notes and write all the things that upset you on a piece of paper and evaluate yourself after a month to see if you have overcome them or not.

I lost

Last night we had a fight as we always do.
The day before the same thing happend,
This is a norm in this house.

I lost the love of my life because of this fighting and arguing
I lost a lifetime worth of happiness
I robbed myself of a beautiful and bright future

Why did I not back down?
Why did I always have to be right?
Why did I not see what this was doing to us?

Now that she is gone
My days are full of sorrow
My eyes are filled with tears

Sleep has also ran away from me
Sleep left the day she walked out of that door
Sleep and peace are nowhere to be found

Why did I not do something sooner?
Why did things have to go this far?
Why, but why?
